Palatec Terra

The land speaks. Terra listens.

Satellite imagery and AI, built for wine producers. Know your vine health, water stress, and harvest quality weeks before you can see it on the vine.

The Platform

Three data streams. One intelligence layer.

Terra reads satellite imagery every cloud-free pass and translates it into three signals that matter for wine quality — canopy health, water stress, and ripening trajectory. Block-level. Updated continuously. What you see on the right is what Terra sees.

Canopy Health

How well your vines are growing, block by block — catches early decline before it affects yield.

Water Stress

Drought stress in vine tissue detected 3–4 weeks before it's visible — critical during July–August.

Ripening Signal

Tracks canopy density changes through the season to model sugar accumulation and harvest timing.

01 · Satellite Imagery

What the land looks like from space.

Sentinel-2 multispectral imagery at 10m resolution — updated every cloud-free pass throughout the growing season. Terra computes NDVI, EVI, NDWI, and LAI indices at the block level, building a continuous picture of canopy health, vigor, and water status.

02 · Climate & Weather

What the environment is doing to the crop.

Localized weather data — temperature, precipitation, humidity, solar radiation — feeds growing degree day accumulation, evapotranspiration estimates, frost risk, and disease pressure models. Context that turns a satellite signal into an agronomic insight.

03 · Vineyard History

What this land has always done.

Every estate's historical yield records, block maps, vine age, variety, irrigation logs, and prior season notes train a site-specific model. Terra learns the normal trajectory for each block — so it knows when something is wrong before the eye can see it.

What Terra Delivers

From raw signals to actionable intelligence.

Terra turns complex environmental data into decisions a winemaker, buyer, or producer can act on — weeks before harvest.

01

Yield Forecast

Block-level predictions updated on every cloud-free satellite pass. Confidence interval narrows as the season progresses. Target: under 15% relative error vs. the 30% industry standard.

02

Water Stress Alerts

NDWI-based drought stress detection weeks before visual symptoms appear. Critical in semi-arid wine regions during the July–August window when water deficit shapes berry size and sugar concentration.

03

Quality Risk Signals

Flags over-vigorous canopy, uneven ripening, and drought-induced stress — enabling targeted intervention before the harvest window closes.

04

Anomaly Detection

Each block has a learned historical NDVI trajectory. Deviations from normal trigger early alerts — giving producers time to respond rather than react.

05

Explainable AI

The model shows its reasoning. 'Block 4 yield estimate is 12% below last year due to below-average canopy development rate during veraison.' Not a score — a story.

06

Spatial Variability Maps

Within-block variability at 10m resolution. Identifies zones that consistently over- or under-perform — invisible to the naked eye, visible to Terra.

Initial Focus

Built for wine first. Designed for every high-value crop.

We start with wine because the stakes are highest and the signals are richest. A single vintage at a premium estate can represent millions in revenue. Block-level intelligence has immediate, measurable ROI.

Rioja Alavesa, Spain

Proof-of-concept anchor. Semi-arid Mediterranean climate, DOCa designation, Sentinel-2 pipeline live.

Planned

Ribera del Duero, Spain

Phase 2 expansion. Similar climate profile, strong winery adoption potential.

Roadmap

Douro Valley, Portugal

Phase 3 international expansion. Rugged terrain amplifies the value of remote sensing.

Roadmap

Napa & Sonoma, California

Long-term. High willingness-to-pay, strong precision viticulture culture.

Roadmap

Who Uses Terra

Intelligence for every link in the chain.

Producers

Know your land better than your best vintage.

Block-level yield forecasts, stress alerts, and quality signals give winemakers time to act — not just react. Reduce forecast error. Protect your best fruit.

Buyers & Négociants

Source with data, not just relationships.

Terra's quality signals and yield forecasts give buyers an independent view of a vintage before committing. Fewer surprises. Better allocations.

Consumers via Decanto

The vintage story, grounded in data.

Terra's block-level intelligence flows into Decanto's provenance layer — turning 'the drought concentrated the fruit' from marketing copy into a traceable, satellite-backed fact.
